Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo reveals his brain cancer has returned

 Former Home and Away actor Johnny Ruffo has revealed the sad news that his brain cancer has returned.

Singer, songwriter and actor Ruffo, who played Chris Harrington in the Australian soap between 2013 and 2016, confirmed his diagnosis on Instagram as he shared a photo of himself next to his girlfriend Tahnee Sims.

"After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that i have to let you know i now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned, though i will dig deep and beat this shit disease again," he wrote.

Ruffo received an outpouring of support from fans and Home and Away co-stars, with Geoff Campbell actor Lincoln Lewis commenting: "F**k man we're all here with you and cheering you on!!! Sending all our love, support and good energy brother!! You got this".

Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, sent the actor her love, writing: "Yes you will. All my love to you Johnny", while Kirsty Sutherland actress Christie Hayes commented: "F**k cancer indeed. You will get through this my friend... stay strong as you have been and we are all here for you xxx".

Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts, wrote: "See you tomorrow my strong, sassy, politically incorrect, warrior friend", and Leah Patterson-Baker actress Ada Nicodemou said: "So so sorry to hear this Johnny, you are so incredibly strong and brave and you will beat this once again".
